The 7th China International Aquatic Sports & Boat Show is being held at Qingdao International Convention Center, May 8-10, 2009.

Any on-water exhibits will this year be on display in Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center (in the section of the marina closest to entrance #2).

The best time to visit the boat show would be either Friday or Saturday as you can then avoid seeing exhibitors packing down already Sunday morning.

While entry tickets are being issued for the exhibition, the organizer has also this year confirmed that bringing your namecard should get you through the door at no cost.

 

Boat show in Yinhai International Yacht Club

During the public holidays on May 28-30, 2009 (Dragon Boat Festival), Yinhai International Yacht Club will have a three-day boat show at their marina.

Although it is a 'boat show', do expect a mixed bag of boats, banks, cars, and red wine to be present at the show.

Boat fishing trips going out from the Olympic Sailing Center

Interested in fishing?  Qingdao International Yacht Club (QIYC) has announced that they from May to November will be organizing regular boat fishing trips on weekends.  Boat(s) will depart from the Olympic Sailing Center (OSC) and choice of fishing area will depend on weather and fishing conditions.

Fishing areas include the waters around Léidá Mountain (雷达山), Dàgōng Island (大公岛), Cháolián Island (潮连岛), Chángmén Rock (长门岩),  Gélí Beach (蛤蜊滩), Tiánhéng Island (田横岛), and Chángshān Island (长山岛).

Minimum charge for any of their trips will be RMB 200 per person, with final participation fee depending on fishing location and planned activities.  Fishing gear can either be rented or you can bring your own.
